EVA’S OBITUARY
Eva L. Massara, 91, of Canal Winchester, passed away Oct. 9, 2023, entering her well-earned reward in her Lord’s heavenly kingdom.

A 1949 graduate of Holy Rosary High School, Eva married John T. Massara on Nov. 12, 1955 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
Along with her husband of nearly 68 years, she is survived by her three children, Beth (Jeff) Bogedain of Canal Winchester, John W. (Julia) Massara of Forest, and Judy (Bruce) Lawson of Dublin. Also surviving her are many nieces and nephews, including Kathy Selder and Rick Jones; and special friend Lisa Leonard, all three to whom she was like a second mother.
Along with her parents, Eva was preceded in death by her siblings, MaryAnn Jones, William Njaim, and Josephine Harper.
Ever a woman of service to others, she volunteered for nearly a combined 30 years as a library aide at both Corpus Christi and Asbury elementary schools, and as a volunteer library coordinator at Groveport Madison Middle School North. She also starred in the Corpus Christi Vaudvilities. In 1986, she was named Groveport Madison Schools Volunteer of the Year.
Eva was very proud of her Lebanese heritage and was a member of the American-Lebanese-Syrian Club holding various offices in her over 30 years of service.
Eva also spent time as an area fundraiser coordinator for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
Combining her love of faith, service and music, Eva spent more than 40 years in music ministry at the Church of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Parish, serving as a choir member, head cantor, and leader of the Resurrection Choir.
