JUNE 4, 1944 – MARCH 11, 2024 IN THE CARE OF
Schoedinger East Catherine Mary Fields, age 79, of Pickerington, passed away Monday, March 11, 2024 at Mt. Carmel East Hospital. She was born June 4, 1944 in Chicago, Illinois, daughter of the late Vincent and Florence (Kotarek) Lane. She was a retired elementary teacher and principal with the Columbus Catholic Diocese with over 40 years of service. Cathy will be dearly missed and is survived by her children, Ryan (Lauren) Fields, Dublin, OH, Monica (TJ) Kagey, Pickerington, OH, Daniel (Mary) Fields, Longwood, FL and George Fields, Denver, CO; grandchildren, Addison, Ella, Liam, Darren, Justyn, Sarah, Megan, Allison and Virginia; 6 great grandchildren; two sisters, Vicki Lane and Maureen (Pat) Eliseo; numerous nieces and nephews; former students and many friends. Besides her parents, Cathy was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Fields, sons, Darren and Gene Fields and brothers, Bill and Jack Lane. She was a longtime member of Our Lady of Miraculous Medal parish where she sang in the praise band. Recently, she has been attending St. Peter Catholic Church in Powell. Per Cathy’s wishes, friends and family are asked to join the family to celebrate Cathy’s life from 4:00-7:00 pm Sunday, March 17, 2024 at Homestead Taproom and Kitchen, 10 S. High Street, Canal Winchester, OH 43110.
Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 am Monday, March 18, 2024 at Our Lady of Miraculous Medal Catholic Church, 5226 Refugee Road, Columbus, OH 43232 with Fr. Leo Connolly Celebrant. Private interment Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Mt. Aloysius School, 5375 Tile Plant Road, New Lexington, OH 43764 or to Autism Speaks, P.O. Michael Rundag’s funeral is Wednesday at 10:30
Michael J. Rundag, age 85, of Columbus passed away Monday, March 4, 2024 at home. He was born on August 22, 1938 in Zanesville, Ohio to the late Dorothy (Nichols) and George J. Rundag, Sr. Much of Michael’s life was dedicated to Church of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal, of which he was a devout, founding member. A steward of faith, Michael served as usher, altar server, Eucharistic minister and attended bible study. He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force in addition to being a 3rd Degree Knight of Columbus. Michael retired from Anheuser Busch after 23 years. When Michael wasn’t serving others, he enjoyed racing, cheering on the Cincinnati Bengals and The Ohio State Buckeyes, and travelling across the United States with his family in their RV, creating cherished memories. In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by his wife, Karen Rundag; brother, George Rundag, Jr.; sister and brother-in-law, Nancy (Dan) Matson; sister-in-law, Rita Pitts; and niece, Elizabeth Teater. He is survived by his daughter, Cynthia Rundag; son, John (Penny) Rundag; sisters, Norma Kiley and Rosemary Rittberger; sister-in-law, Marilyn Rundag; nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 pm, Tuesday March 12, 2024 at Schoedinger East, 5360 E. Livingston Ave. Columbus, OH 43232, where a vigil service will begin at 7:30 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 am Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at Church of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal, 5225 Refugee Rd. Columbus, OH 43232. Fr. Leo Connelly, Celebrant. Private interment at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to a Catholic charity of choice or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
