Wendell Willie Thacker Obituary
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Wendell W. Thacker of Groveport, Ohio on Thursday November 14th, at the age of 67 years. Wendell was born on July 19, 1957 to Cullie Wheeler, and the late Willie Thacker, in Pikeville, Kentucky.
He will always be missed and remembered by his wife of 48 years, Trisha; children: Daniel (Kristy), Tracella (John), and Jonathan (Amanda); 8 grandchildren: Andrew, Annalissa, Helena, Grant, Scott, Brad, Travis, and Eli; mother: Cullie Wheeler; sister-in-law: Paula Stauffer; brother-in-law: Curtis Crosby (sister-in-law Pam); Aunt Jackie and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins; as well as numerous friends.
Wendell was predeceased by his baby (Nathaniel); father Willie Thacker; brother, Randall Thacker; mother-in-law Margaret Crosby; Father-in-law Paul Crosby; Brother-in-laws: Charles Stauffer and Kenneth Crosby (Connie).
Wendell loved God, his family, and friends. Everyone he met, would soon be his friend. He enjoyed spending time with Trisha, his high school sweetheart. It did not matter where they went, as long as they were together. He enjoyed his job at UPS and worked there for 36 years. He was the heart of the UPS yard and nothing can fill the void that he left. He also was the union steward for Teamster Local 413 and worked hard on behalf of his co-workers.
Visitation for Wendell will be Monday November 18 , 2024, at Myers-Woodyard Funeral Home 587 Main St. Groveport, Oh. 43125, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Prayer Vigil begins at 7:30 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday November 19, 2024, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in German Village, 684 S. Third Sty. Columbus, Oh. 43206. Fr Vince Nguyen officiating. Interment Groveport Cemetery.

Angela “Nonna” Vatri
Age 92, of Canal Winchester passed away Friday, November 1, 2024 at Brookdale Lakeview Crossing after a brief illness. She was born on September 6, 1932 in Belgrado di Varmo Udine, Italy to the late Davide and Marcellina D’Andreis.
Angela was a homemaker and talented seamstress devoting her time as a Seamstress for Saving Little Lives (ICU babies). She was a parishioner of Church of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal for over 60 years. She will be remembered for homemade Italian dinners every Sunday with the entire family making sure you ate enough or asking if you were already full, her sly jokes, infectious laugh, and charisma.
In addition to her parents, Angela was preceded in death by her husband, George Vatri; brothers, Lino D’Andreis and Remiggio D’Andreis. She is survived by her children, Lorraine Vatri Mestemaker (James), Larry Vatri (Lori), and Lilly Vatri; grandchildren, Devin Mestemaker, Julia Mestemaker, Victoria Vatri Sharp (John), Valerie Vatri Ford (Luke), Vincent Vatri (Tarynn), and Marchella Bardelang Douds (Dennis); sister, Carolina Rossi; great-grandchildren; Adelina Sharp, William Sharp, Dawson Ford, and Lila Douds; numerous Italian nieces, nephews, cousins and her faithful canine companion, Ellie.
Family will receive friends 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. (Prayer Service at 7:30 p.m.) Friday, November 8, 2024 at SCHOEDINGER EAST CHAPEL, 5360 E. Livingston Ave. Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. Saturday, November 9th at Church of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal, 5225 Refugee Rd., Columbus. Entombment St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
