FUNERAL: OUR LADY OF THE MIRACULOUS MEDAL
THURSDAY AT 10:00 AM
Peter George Broeckel09/16/1942 – 07/09/2022Peter George Broeckel, age 79, passed away on July 9, 2022 once he had sent out all of the virtual letters and thoughts on his list for the day, and heard the evening sports radio broadcast at 8:30 PM.Peter was born September 16, 1942 in Jersey City, New Jersey to Henry Gottlieb Broeckel and Marie Eileen Broeckel (Drummond). He was the eldest of two children, and enjoyed big brother status with Jane Anne Campbell (Donald LouisCampbell) through many years. Peter was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Mary Anita Broeckel (Ritchey), which explains how a Jersey boy was extracted from the Northeast into the Midwest. Both Peter and Mary are survived by their 4 children, which includes Mark Peter Broeckel (Brook Ann Broeckel (Gerould)), Maria Rose Broeckel, Daniel Michael Broeckel (Jenny Eileen Broeckel (Stokes)), and Joseph Henry Broeckel (Kelly Jo Broeckel (Smith)).The legacy is extended with the assistance of 8 grandchildren, including Brayden O”Ryan Cullitan, Caleb Michael Broeckel, Owen Michael Broeckel, Carter Luke Broeckel, Brody Joseph Broeckel, Ashlind Elaine Broeckel, Brady Michael Broeckel, and Remi Alexander Broeckel. The most important parts of Peter’s life included his family, friends, religion, sports (Notre Dame, Brooklyn Dodgers, New York Giants, New York Rangers, New Castle, and any team that has rosters of one of his grandchildren). He was alwaysscouting! The US Postal Service will need to adjust their infrastructure following this change as Peter was known for his prolific letter writing each day and his disciplined call rotations to check in with everyone, ensure the sports schedules and scores were calibrated, and package or letters status was exchanged. He would always provide you with a positive perspective or approach, and at the end of every interaction you know how much he cared about people. Peter faced every challenge thrown at him and never complained about the cards dealt, he fought ferociously to be resourceful, humble, and willing to never give up on himself or others that counted on him. He was always trying to connect himself and others to something more in whatever means available to him. Well, our most significant package was sent last night and we hope they are ready for him as he has been ready to see Mary again for quite some time and once he can negotiate it, he will be looking for the first sports field he can locate to bring it! We love you Dad, Grandpa, Brother, and buddy!
